Pagosa Springs is without a school building as a result of a disastrous fire Wednesday night, when the combined grade and high school building of District No. 1, situated on the high round hill near the center of the town, was completely destroyed by fire of an unknown origin.

The snow is well over a hundred inches on the pass now, and perfect for wet snow skiing. An auxiliary tow has been established to carry skiers to the top of the range, and thereby provides a run that is a challenge to even the best skiers.

It was our pleasure Wednesday to view the plans prepared by Silas Smith, architect of Durango, for the proposed new hotel on the Springs property. A new chair lift will be installed at Wolf Creek Ski Area this summer, according to an announcement this week by Glen Edmonds, president of the Wolf Creek Ski Corporation. The lift is on order from the Borvig Lift Co. and will be delivered early this summer.
