The Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI), Archuleta County’s family resource center, is asking the community to help stock its toiletry shelf for local youth and families.
SNAP benefits provide incredible support by helping families purchase food. However, SNAP benefits do not cover essential nonfood items such as hygiene products, cleaning supplies and laundry soap. These necessities are vital to family health, dignity and overall quality of life.
PCI is seeking donations of items including:
• Hygiene products: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, hair brushes, hair ties and Q-tips.
• Cleaning supplies: dish soap, disinfectant wipes, all-purpose cleaner, sponges, paper towels and trash bags.
• .Feminine products: pads, tampons and panty liners
• Laundry supplies: laundry detergent, stain remover and dryer sheets.
Every donation — large or small — can make a meaningful difference for a neighbor in need. By working together, the community can help ensure local families have access to the basic supplies they need to feel healthy, secure and supported.
Donations may be dropped off Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the PCI office, located at 550B Hot Springs Blvd.
