Take a dive under the sea with Pagosa Spring High School’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ April 8-11

Hello from the Pagosa Springs High School Theatre Department. We are so excited to present this year’s musical, “The Little Mermaid.”

This is a title that you may recognize from the classic Disney movie, “The Little Mermaid.”

Although this show is very similar to the Disney classic, it is a slightly modified version written by Doug Wright and inspired by the book written by Hans Christian Anderson.

We are so excited to present this musical to you. This show is going to be a colorful, magical and family-friendly experience we hope everyone in our community will enjoy.

We thank you all for your support through our various fundraisers and hope you will come to watch our performances.

Our theater program has had a recent success with “The Wizard of Oz.” We hope that “The Little Mermaid” becomes just as much of a success. With our biggest cast yet, a cast of 48 people, and a crew of five people, we cannot express how excited we are for the number of our youth who are participating in this show. We hope we continue to have such numbers in the future.

We want to thank all of the students for their time and commitment to our program, all of the parents for their support, and many drives to and from home.

We would also like to thank all of our directors and volunteers, Krisha Doocy, Leo Baughman, Elizabeth Baldwin, Emily Lavengood, Morgan Vining and everyone else who is volunteering to help us put on an amazing show.

Audiences can catch all the fun April 8 through 11 at 7 p.m., with a special matinee on April 11 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium.

We can’t wait to see you under the sea.

Jessica Parker is a 10th-grade student at Pagosa Springs High School.
