Support for Naomi Riess

Dear Editor:

Wake up, Colorado. How much more are we willing to take?

Our small towns are feeling the squeeze. Families are struggling to keep up. Small businesses are trying to survive. And too often, the answer from Denver is more government, more taxes, fees, and less say for the people who actually live here.

I’m tired of it. I oppose the socialist direction I see in Colorado politics, and I’m tired of watching rural communities get pulled along by an agenda that doesn’t fit our lives.

Now we have outside groups trying to influence our local elections with attack ads. Why are they so interested in Montezuma’s county commissioner races?

And our Southwest Colorado House seat? What do they want, and why should we let their advertising drown out our own neighbors?

We need to pay attention. Follow the money. Question the ads. Look at the candidates’ records.

I’m voting for Naomi Riess because she knows this community. She has spent decades raising her family here, volunteering and helping people navigate land-use and development projects. She understands that decisions made in Denver have real consequences for families, farmers and small businesses back home.

We need someone who will stand up for Southwest Colorado and challenge policies that make our lives harder.

And Democrats who are frustrated with their own party: you don’t have to keep voting for a direction you disagree with. Nobody owes a political party their vote.

Enough is enough. I want less government overreach, responsible spending and our local voice back.

Vote for common sense. Vote for Naomi Riess.
