Dear Editor:
I’m writing to support candidates for the United States House of Representatives in Colorado’s District 3 and for the Colorado State Board of Education.
In Congress, we need a representative who will understand and address our needs. And they are numerous: cost of living - food and fuel costs in particular -, housing availability, water issues, wild lands and wildlife protection, environmental concerns.
And – this is crucial – we need in Washington a representative who is accessible, who talks with us and listens to us.
That representative is Dwayne Romero.
Mr. Romero is a veteran (Army Corps of Engineers, Army Rangers), he has served in state government (Director of Economic Development under Governor Hickenlooper), he is a small business owner in Pitkin County.
He is determined to lower the cost of living, he will work on agricultural issues, he will defend our public lands, and he will work for affordable health care in our state and country.
Mr. Romero will be a busy man, but he is also determined to be accessible to his constituents, to be a true representative for all the people of CD 3.
He deserves our votes.
Barb Clementi is running for the State Board of Education. As a retired university professor, I am especially pleased to note that she has an extensive career in education, both classroom and administrative. Not only does she care about Colorado children, but she has the experience to work productively with those children and their families. Ms Clementi has earned the opportunity to take on the responsibility of serving Colorado education.
It’s time to vote in this election - one of the most important in our lifetimes. So, please, be certain you are registered to vote, and then do it!
