Dear Editor:
We citizens of this unique Constitutional Republic have been given rights and responsibilities laid out in Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Both of these documents are being trampled upon. “No kings” rallies are fairly ridiculous, as The Declaration of Independence specifically addressed this issue. The fact that people can protest in this country is proof we don’t have a king. More concerning are politicians that swear to uphold the Constitution, but don’t.
Be restlessly assured that those against the Constitution and Bill of Rights, those that want to change our representative Republic into a Democratic Socialist (DSA) system, will not stop. The reason is deeper than this surface view. Suffice it to say there is an unseen battle raging.
As far as voting and rights go, there is a lingering question on why so many hunters, Republicans, and Christians don’t vote. Why would 50% of hunters not vote consistently? Do they not realize there is a big push to eliminate their sport and their right completely, as seen in Oregon? Are they so wrapped up in the hunt preparation, animal processing, etc. to not find one hour to read the issues, fill out their ballot, and deliver their conscience to the powers that be? Ridiculous!
How about Republicans that sit on their hands in midterm elections particularly, but also in primaries and Presidential Election cycles? This is around 59%. Is it good enough to simply complain about what those elected officials push into your lives? Nonsense. The only way to get effective change is to VOTE. You may have all kinds of ridiculous grievances that irritate you, but that does not absolve you from performing your rights and duties in the party that you have claimed represents your conscience.
Now for Christians and their consciences. The moral compass we are guided by does not allow for laziness. Proverbs 6:9-11; “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty comes like a robber.” The DSA groupies would like nothing more than to bring this to fruition. Prov. 12:24 states “The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.” Is this what you want? Also see Proverbs 6:6-8,10:4-5,13:4, 14:23, 15:19, 18:9, 19:15, 20:4, 21:25, 24:30-34, 26:13-16, Romans 12:11, Colossians 3:23-24, Ephesians 4:28, 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12, Matthew 25:14-30. When something in Scripture is repeated twice, it is something to pay attention to.
Repeated many times, it’s imperative.
Are solid Christians happy to sit back and bask in perceived comfort without lifting their hand to vote the moral code God gave us? Will you make excuses for voting immorally? Does a non-vote for you seem okay? Don’t you think God has given us responsibilities? If Christians (and Jewish Americans [29%]) don’t vote the moral code, all of it, then we cannot expect to get the results and blessings laid out in God’s Word.
There is no excuse! Non-votes elect your opposition. Please vote!
