One of the most anticipated new attractions at this year’s Archuleta County Fair won’t be found in the livestock barns or on Vendor Row — it will be hanging proudly inside the Exhibit Hall.
The Archuleta County Fair Board has partnered with the talented members of the Pagosa Piecemakers Quilt Guild to create a one-of-a-kind quilt celebrating the rich ranching heritage that has helped make the county fair what it is today.
Months of planning, designing and countless hours of stitching have gone into this beautiful, handcrafted masterpiece, making it a true labor of love.
The quilt pays tribute to many local ranches and historic ranch brands that have faithfully supported the Archuleta County Fair throughout the years.
Each carefully crafted block represents the deep agricultural roots of our community and honors the ranching families whose dedication, hard work and generosity have played an important role in preserving our county’s western traditions.
“This quilt is more than just fabric and thread,” state fair organizers. “It’s a celebration of our community, our history, and the people who continue to support our youth and the traditions of the County Fair.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to admire this special quilt throughout the fair in the Exhibit Hall, where it will be displayed alongside dozens of other incredible quilts, handcrafted projects, artwork, photography, baked goods and exhibits created by talented community members of all ages.
When you’ve finished exploring the exhibits, be sure to place your bid in the silent auction for a chance to take home this truly unique piece of Archuleta County history. Every stitch tells a story, and the winning bidder will own a keepsake that honors the ranching families and community spirit that make our fair so special.
Whether you’re a quilting enthusiast, a history buff or simply someone who loves supporting local traditions, this is one exhibit you won’t want to miss.
So, make plans to spend some time in the Exhibit Hall during the 2026 Archuleta County Fair, July 30-Aug. 2.
Browse the incredible displays, support the talented exhibitors, and don’t forget to stop by the Ranch Brand Quilt — an extraordinary work of art that beautifully showcases the heart, heritage and hometown pride of Archuleta County.
