As the Pagosa Springs community responds to the devastating effects of recent flooding, Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is helping local families meet immediate needs while connecting residents with longer-term support.
PCI’s shelves are stocked with emergency supplies, including cleaning products, toiletries, paper goods, first-aid items and other essentials. Thanks to the generosity of community members, PCI is prepared to assist neighbors who may be facing difficult and uncertain days ahead.
The organization’s support extends beyond supplies. PCI can help residents navigate challenges and connect with community resources for housing, food, mental-health support, emergency financial assistance and family support. Residents who are unsure where to turn are encouraged to contact PCI for guidance and help exploring available options.
“We’re here to listen, help you explore your options and connect you with the support you need,” PCI’s executive director, Rebecca Tenpenny, shared in a community message.
Donations support local families
PCI is asking community members to help sustain flood-response and recovery efforts. One hundred percent of donations received through PCI’s website or other channels will go directly toward helping local families affected by the flooding.
Contributions of any size can make a difference. Donations will help PCI purchase emergency supplies and provide financial assistance to families in need. Community members can donate online at www.pagosacommunityinitiative.org.
PCI also welcomes community support through volunteering and donations of needed supplies. Individuals and organizations wishing to coordinate assistance are encouraged to contact PCI before making large or specialized donations so resources can be directed where they are most useful.
Financial contributions are often the most flexible way to support disaster recovery, allowing organizations to purchase supplies and respond to changing needs.
