Amid flood recovery, Salvation Army continues helping Archuleta county neighbors

Posted

As our Archuleta County community begins recovering from two devastating flood events, the Archuleta County Salvation Army extends its thoughts and prayers to everyone affected. We are grateful to the many residents who have stepped forward to help their neighbors during this difficult time.

Our local Salvation Army has been assisting with the emergency response by providing relief to National Guard units deployed to our community and helping families displaced by the flooding.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign, which supports local individuals and families facing hardship throughout the year and during the holiday season.

We recognize that many residents are already devoting their time and energy to flood recovery, while others are dealing with the effects of the flooding themselves. Those immediate needs come first, and we understand that this may not be the right time for everyone to volunteer.

For those who are able, even an hour or two of bell ringing during the holiday season can make a meaningful difference. Ninety percent of the Red Kettle donations stay in Archuleta County and help us continue serving local residents in need.

As our community faces the challenges ahead, the Salvation Army remains committed to helping our neighbors, both in times of crisis and throughout the year.
