On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Pagosa Springs-area Marines and their guests are invited to celebrate the 251st birthday of the United States Marine Corps at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant and Grill, 157 Navajo Trail Drive, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wilderness Room on the restaurant’s main floor.
The celebration will feature the traditional cake-cutting with a Mameluke sword and a video message from both the commandant and the sergeant major of the Marine Corps. The oldest and the youngest Marine in attendance will also be honored.
Attendees may order food and beverages from the menu at their own expense, with a 20 percent gratuity added. Complimentary birthday cake will be served.
Other service members, especially U.S. Navy corpsmen, are welcome. Dress is casual; however, uniforms are always welcome.
