Week of Sept. 8-12
Work activity
• Labor Day holiday: Crews will be off the project from Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7, with work resuming on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
• Crews will begin traffic pattern changes after the Labor Day holiday. Motorists need to slow down and be on the lookout for traffic shifts throughout the project work zone.
• The 7th Street intersection closure will continue through mid-September as crews work to complete utility and safety upgrades. Please note that pedestrians and vehicles should utilize 5th and Lewis and 8th streets as alternatives to cross U.S. 160.
• North 3rd Street intersection: Crews have completed concrete paving work and are preparing to re-open North 3rd Street.
• Work is scheduled to commence at the Harman Park and Piedra Road intersection at U.S. 160 in mid-September. Working hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Please allow extra time to get through the work zone.
• Pedestrian safety: Pedestrian crosswalks are open at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Lewis streets. Our team continues to see pedestrians not practicing good safety measures, jumping barricades and crossing U.S. 160. Our work zone is extremely active in several locations, and we want to keep everyone safe.
