Week of Oct. 5-9

Work activity

Note: All work is subject to weather conditions. Crews may work consistent weekends, especially when work cannot be completed during the weekdays due to inclement weather.

• 1st Street intersection: Beginning the week of Oct. 5, 1st Street will be reduced to one lane alternating in each direction for planned work. This reduction will be seven days a week, 24 hours per day for two weeks. This is a joint project with the Town of Pagosa Springs that will include utility updates and concrete paving operations.

• 100 block: Crews will continue concrete pouring operations for curb and gutter and sidewalk on the south side of the 100 block. Please observe marked pedestrian walkways and stay clear of freshly poured concrete.

• 5th Street intersection: The south side of the 5th Street intersection will remain closed as work continues. Alternative access to businesses on 5th Street will be through the old courthouse parking lot. Please observe directional signage for alternative access. Crews will be continuing utility work at this location as well as planned asphalt paving operations as a part of the Town of Pagosa Springs work.

• 7th Street intersection: Crews are prepping the south side of the 7th Street intersection for paving operations. Please note that pedestrians and vehicles should utilize 5th Street and Lewis Street and 8th Street as alternatives to cross U.S. 160.

• Harman Park and Piedra Road: Work continues at this intersection, with work hours between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Given current weather conditions, drivers can expect work seven days a week. We ask that drivers slow down and please allow extra time to get through the work zone.

• Pedestrian safety: Pedestrian crosswalks are open at 2nd, 3rd, Hot Springs, mid-block at 4th, Lewis, 6th and 8th. Our team continues to see pedestrians jaywalking and crossing at unsafe locations. Our work zone is active in several locations and we want to keep everyone safe. Please observe marked crossing locations.
