The film “Common Ground” will be released for worldwide streaming on Earth Day, April 22, just in time for the Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) Environmental Film Fundraiser at the Liberty Theater at 6 p.m. that evening.
The public is invited to join in this celebration of the earth.
As part of a “Global Watch Party,” we will be viewing the film along with millions of people worldwide. Tickets are $25 (children under 13 go for free) and can be purchased either at the door on the day of or in advance at our website, pagosagreen.org.
The program will begin with the evocative local film “Pagosa is My Name,” written and directed by Darryl Saffer and narrated by Diane Cirksena.
Prior to the films, attendees are invited to participate in other fun activities. All are encouraged to purchase tickets for three exciting door prize drawings; prizes include a framed bird photo by celebrated local photographer Herb Grover, a home energy audit offered by Paul Kriescher (executive producer of the PBS series “Heart of Building”), and a surprise offering from Terry’s Ace Hardware.
Folks can also purchase tasty items from the Earth Day bake sale offerings, which will include springtime treats.
The GGP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate the community in sustainable agricultural practices by producing food year-round using local renewable energy. Our three growing domes in Centennial Park have become focal points for locals and visitors alike, and are symbols of this community’s dedication to the health of our planet.
After seven years of weathering, our domes need maintenance. For this effort, we are seeking community support. Individuals and businesses interested in providing that support may contact us at ggp@pagosagreen.org.
