Murray George Knudson
Murray George Knudson, 77, a 20-year resident of Pagosa Springs, suddenly passed away Oct. 13, 2023, with his wife by his side. Born on Jan. 14, 1946, to Arthur R. Knudson and Dorothy H. Knudson (Schmidt) in Inglewood, Calif. He served in the Navy during Vietnam and went on to become a professional pilot and air traffic controller. New possibilities opened for Murray from driving truck to finally becoming a software test engineer for Microsoft — with no computer training at all. He excelled in finding issues that those with computer science degrees missed.
Murray is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret (Peggy) Putnam Knudson; son Brian Knudson; daughter-in-law Laura Knudson; and granddaughter Lainey Knudson — all from San Antonio. Also, his dear kitty kids, Bob, Merlin and Gandalf. Not to mention the great neighbors we have been blessed with in Pagosa.
Murray was one of a kind and will be missed terribly. Cremation will take place and there will no services.
Donations in his honor can be made to the Humane Society or our local Veterans Memorial Park.
Special thanks to our wonderful paramedics, sheriff staff, Coroner Brad Hunt and Ryan at Hood Mortuary who made the process so easy to handle.
