Colorado Parks and Wildlife
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking a new representative to serve on the Sportsmen’s Roundtable for the southwest region.
The agency is seeking applications from active hunters and anglers, and is particularly interested in applications from women, minorities or youth who are interested in representing those growing constituencies in a policy-recommendation role.
“We want to make sure the views from a wide variety of hunters and anglers are represented in the roundtable process,” said Patt Dorsey, southwest regional manager.
The Sportsmen’s Roundtable is a process set up by Colorado Parks and Wildlife to assure that hunters and anglers statewide can provide input, concerns and discuss issues with leaders of the agency. A total of 24 people have been appointed from all corners of Colorado to the roundtable. The whole group is scheduled to meet twice each year, and representatives will have two additional meetings in their respective regions.
The southwest region includes, roughly, the area from the Four Corners to the San Luis Valley, the Gunnison Basin, the North Fork Valley and the Montrose-Delta area west to the state line.
If you are interested, send a one-page letter that explains your interest in wildlife and why you want to serve on the roundtable to: Joe Lewandowski, public information officer, Southwest Region, joe.lewandowski@state.co.us, or to 415 Turner Drive, Durango, CO 81303.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 15.
