As of Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, flood incident officials reported that 29 missions have been completed, resulting in 33 people and 18 animals being evacuated in Archuleta County.
The Archuleta County Sheriff's Office and incident personnel are urging people to evacuate now while help is available.
If you need assistance and are contacted by ground search and rescue, or if you see a helicopter overhead, flag them down and ask for help.
National Guard evacuation assistance is only available for a limited time, according to the agency, and current road closures are potentially long-term. Don't wait until it's too late.
