As communities across the country prepare to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary, Black Diamond Dental of Pagosa Springs is recognizing the people who make a difference close to home.
The practice has extended its “Nominate a Hero” campaign, a community giveaway designed to honor service-minded individuals who have made meaningful contributions to Pagosa Springs or the country. The selected recipient will receive up to $5,000 in dental care from Black Diamond Dental.
Owner Dr. Justin Nylund said the inspiration for the program comes from his family’s history of service. His father served as a MASH doctor during the Vietnam War, while one grandfather was a soldier in World War I and another worked as a dentist caring for German prisoners of war during World War II.
Residents are encouraged to nominate veterans, pastors, volunteers, civic leaders or other individuals who have helped strengthen the community.
Nominations should include the nominee’s name, a photograph and a written explanation describing how that person has improved life in Pagosa Springs or served the nation.
Nominations may be submitted by email to welcome@blackdiamonddds.com or delivered to the office at 2363 Eagle Drive. The winner will be announced Friday, July 31.
To celebrate the nominees, Black Diamond Dental will display the submitted stories throughout July and share them on its Facebook page.
The giveaway reflects Black Diamond Dental’s commitment to community involvement. The practice partners with local organizations, including Aspen House, Lutheran School and Pagosa Valor Academy, and continues to support residents beyond dental care.
“We are excited to be growing and meeting new members of the community,” Nylund said. “This is one way we can give back to the people who make Pagosa Springs such a special place.”
Black Diamond Dental of Pagosa Springs is part of the Pagosa Sun Community Connect sponsored content program.
