The Cuchara chairlift, which the town purchased in 2010 with the intention of using it as the center point of the Reservoir Hill development plan, is now on the market and the town may soon be able to wash its hands of it. The hope is that the town will show a little profit from the sale.
“Unless there is an objection by town council,” town manager David Mitchem proposed at the July 2 meeting, “staff plans to sell the chairlift by placing an advertisement in ski and recreation industry media. We will first get an estimate of value.”
