The Town of Pagosa Springs found out this week it was awarded a grant worth more than $100,000 to be used towards completing another section of the Riverwalk trail system.
“A hundred and twenty thousand dollars is what we were awarded,” Town Planner James Dickhoff confirmed on Tuesday, “which is what we requested. They typically don’t award projects unless it is for the full amount requested. A lot of it had to do with us coming to the table with almost a fifty-percent match. We requested $120,000 and we are matching $96,000, which is way above the twenty percent minimum requirement.”
