Pagosa Verde, a local company founded by Jerry Smith, hosted its second annual symposium, titled “Colorado’s Moment,” last week at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts, where a number of guest speakers addressed the recurring theme that now is the perfect time for Colorado to take advantage of renewable resources.

Perhaps the most colorful speaker at the event was Bernie Karl from Chena, Alaska. Chena is the site of the first low temperature geothermal electricity plant in the United States.
