School district to net $344,000 in Secure Rural Schools funds

rchuleta County, and therefore Archuleta School District 50 Jt., will likely see about $344,000 filter down from the federal government in the coming months as part of the Secure Rural Schools (SRS) Program.

It was announced in April that Congress had approved funding for the program for an additional two years as part of a bill that also provides a permanent fix to the Medicare reimbursement system.

The SRS program provides resources to counties for public schools, road improvements and maintenance projects in more than 700 rural counties across the country.
