Special to The PREVIEW
Photo courtesy Lisa ScottCarolina brothers Ryan and Justin Harris are quickly developing into one of the hottest stage shows in the music business.
Backed by a band of serious players who blend country with their southern rock roots, McKenzies Mill has a romping, high-energy stage show. The Red Ryder Rodeo Committee is bringing this band to town for two concerts — July 4 and July 6 at 6 p.m. in the rodeo arena.
From their sibling harmonies to their infections guitar hooks, these boys are an entertaining force and capture crowds from the first downbeat. They have emerged as a great songwriting team and are influenced by the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Charlie Daniels Band and Tom Petty.
They travel the country while expanding their fan base and gaining national exposure.
Last fall, they won the MGM Grand/Country Jam, U.S.A./Crown Royal/Roper Apparel and Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar Battle of the Bands live competition. This win entitled them to play 10 nights as the National Finals Rodeo after-party band at the MGM Grand Hotel.
Winning the National Bud Light Battle of Bands at the Port Paradise Music Festival gave them the opportunity to play a multi-genre festival in Nassau, Bahamas, for 6,000 Bud Light fans and cruise passengers.
McKenzies Mill is characterized by their electrifying rock and roll stage presence, small town southern stories, and their undeniable sibling harmonies.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under, and are available at Goodman’s Department Store, Wyndham Activities Center and at the gate. Discount prices are offered if you are attending the rodeo or both concerts.
