Really?

Dear Editor:

Really GOP, Victor Marx?

You picked that guy as your candidate for Governor of Colorado? A guy who claims to have killed someone when he was 7 years old, even though there is no record of unsolved murders at the time. He claims to have reported the killing to the local Sheriffs department, but the agency says it has “no record of the incident”. He also claims to have killed other people, but is unsure how many. (He told 9 News that he doesn’t think those details need to be clarified.) The two opposing (and far better qualified) primary candidates Kirkmeyer and Bottoms did not claim to have killed anyone, but apparently killing people is a quality you admire so you voted for him. That would have given me pause, to say the least.

His campaign website once claimed that his ministry has rescued 45,000 women and children from abuse, though any details or facts backing this up aren’t available. (He did later state that this number was wrong.) His campaign website has since removed this claim since it has apparently been disproved. When asked how many people he HAD helped, he said “it’s more than one and less than a bunch”. Now that is the kind of firm answer you want from your Governor, so you voted for him.

Marx also claims he can “summon and cast-off demons” a practice similar to exorcism, and he can even do this over the phone! Now who wouldn’t want this fine quality in a Governor? You never know when you might run into someone possessed by the devil in that line of work. So, you voted for him.

He claims to have the support of other Republican candidates, former officials and the like. He apparently does have the support of Lauren Boebert, General Mike Flynn and Matt Gaetz all three of which have questionable morals, levels of honesty and intelligence if you ask me. The general consensus from others seems to be that Marx is a “grifter” and a “con man.” I would tend to agree with that assessment. But these are qualities the GOP wants in a Governor, so you voted for him.

Recently Marx’s campaign admitted to campaign finance violations for accepting contributions over the legal limit, and not refunding the excess. The state is asking for a fine in excess of $51k. Perfect Governor material.

He even started talking to his dog during the primary debate on TV! And now he wants people to fast for 21 days before the election? This guy is a crack pot, at best.

I was a life-long Republican until about 10 years ago when the party lost its way. Electing Trump and the blind obedience to him has sickened me. GOP now choosing Victor Marx cements my decision to step away from the right and vote for a better America.
