Jacquelyn Kay Baxstrom, born Aug. 10, 1932, passed away peacefully Nov. 20, 2013, with her family by her side.
She was born in Chromo, Colo., and was a fourth generation rancher in the Navajo River Valley. Family and ranching was her life.
Jacquelyn was the first Red Ryder queen for Archuleta County in 1949. Wintertime brought her much pleasure in riding her snowmobile. Never missing a rodeo or a dance, summertime also brought her much lovely times, enjoying picnics and weenie roasts with her family and friends.
You will be greatly missed; we love you, Mom, Grandma Jacq, as known by many.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Harry and Nonie Eaklor, brothers Jack Eaklor and Bill Eaklor.
Survivors include her children: Dennis (Peggy) Paige from Bainbridge Island, Wash.; Sydney (Steve) Crouse of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Scott (Leisa) Baxstrom of Flora Vista, N.M.; and Kent (Lisa) Baxstrom of Bayfield, Colo.
Grandchildren include: Randy (Rhonda) Baxstrom, CoCo (Napo) Ulibarri, Cathy (Adam) Schutz, Lauren (Caleb) Melvin, Stephen (Heather) Crouse, Matt Paige, Jake Baxstrom, Kayla Catlin (Ramon Gallegos), Luke Baxstrom, Sable Baxstrom and Kelsey Catlin.
