On July 25, immediately following the owners annual meeting, the Board of Directors of the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA) appointed new members to serve, replacing those whose terms were ending.
Normally, these openings would have been filled by election by the property owners, but this year there were no announced candidates to run for election to the board. Therefore, according to the bylaws of the PLPOA, the current board would continue to serve until replacements were elected or appointed.
There were four openings for full three-year terms, so the board needed to find owners to volunteer to serve until the next election, which is July 30, 2016. Those who did volunteer were then interviewed by the board and the positions were filled at the organizational board meeting on July 25. The new board then elected its officers at a special meeting on Aug. 6. The board will have a relative diverse membership based on the geography of the PLPOA and include the following:
