Margaret Esther Reeves

Margaret Esther Reeves succumbed to cancer on Dec. 15 at the age of 67. In recent years, Margaret was well known in Pagosa Springs as a daily visitor to the hot springs and the Community Center.

Margaret spent her professional life in the field of education, both as a teacher and an administrator. However, she would tell you that her career in secular education was her avocation. Her true vocation was her dedication and devotion to her God Jehovah. From the time she was a child until her death, Margaret was gregarious and she actively shared her knowledge of Jehovah and His purposes with everyone she came in contact with.

Margaret purchased her first home in Pagosa Springs in 1979. She called this community her home and was deeply concerned for the spiritual welfare of her neighbors and friends. Following a stroke in 2007 that left her with a permanent speech impediment, Margaret was hampered in her ability to share her faith, but not dampened in her zeal. She demonstrated her loyalty to God by her life’s course with full confidence that “God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name.” (Hebrews 6:10.)

A memorial service for Margaret will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 35 Meadows Dr. (corner of Meadows Dr. and U.S. 160) on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 2 p.m. All are warmly invited to attend.
