At the Aug. 1 meeting of the San Juan Outdoor Club, Steve Hartvigsen of the Forest Service will speak about this summer’s local wildfires and will discuss what was learned from the Little Sand fire of last summer.
There will be ample opportunity for questions about this summer’s fires and Forest Service policy on fighting fires in wilderness areas.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse, 230 Port Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments at 6:30; presentation at 7.
