Local Pi Beta Phi sorority alumnae gathered at the home of Carole Howard on Dec. 1 for their annual Christmas angel potluck luncheon. Posing with a tiny fraction of the 200 pounds of food they donated to Healthy Archuleta’s food distribution center for community food banks are, standing left to right: Carole Howard, Mary Rothchild, Melissa McDonald, Paula Tennant, Ann Bubb and Mary Bailly. Seated, left to right, are Kelly Maestas and Lisa Scott. The ladies also donated toiletries to Rise Above Violence, a local social service organization supporting domestic violence victims. The festive holiday event also included an angel gift exchange. Pi Beta Phi, founded in 1867, is the oldest national sorority in the U.S. Today there are 135 collegiate chapters in the U.S. and nearly 300 alumnae clubs around the world.
