It is time for New Warriors

Who is the “New Warrior?”

New Warriors are men who have undergone an initiation — the New Warrior Training Adventure (NWTA) — into another way of being mature, masculine role models.

The 48-hour training is a modern male initiation and self-examination hosted by the ManKind Project, MKP, an international non-profit men’s organization whose mission is to make the world a safer place.

MKP is supporting men to, “wake up, grow up and show up!” right now, every week, in communities around the world. The work New Warriors are doing in men’s groups and trainings — nearly 50,000 men over the last 30 years — has impacted hundreds of thousands and has profoundly helped families and communities. MKP’s purpose is to create a safer world by building and supporting emotionally mature, accountable and compassionate male role models. Through our trainings and our ongoing men’s groups (circles) we engage one another at a deep emotional level, sharing our highs and lows.

The New Warrior Training Adventure is a real time hero’s journey for all men. It is the challenge of a lifetime for many men and not all men are ready for the challenge. It’s safe, supportive and cutting edge. It is not a retreat, a conference or a workshop. It is not like anything you’ve done before. We ask men to stop living vicariously through movies, television, addictions and distractions and step up into their own adventure — in real time and surrounded by other men. Men who complete the training, New Warriors, take full responsibility for the consequences, intended and unintended, of their actions.

The Mankind Project of New Mexico/Southwest Colorado is hosting the New Warrior Training Adventure May 17-19 at “Kamp Kiwanis,” Vanderwagen, N.M.
