The Upper San Juan Health Service District (USJHSD) board held a special meeting Wednesday, Jan. 22, at noon to discuss 2014 election matters.
First, in order to properly run a special district election, the board had to designate an election official. As governed by statute, the selected official will conduct required election business and have the authority to cancel the 2014 election if and only if the number of candidates for board seats is less than or equal to the number of vacant seats.
