Golda Elizabeth (Masco) Warr


obit-Golda-Warr_7-26Golda Elizabeth (Masco) Warr passed away on July 22, in Santa Fe, N.M., while traveling.

She was born Dec. 2, 1922, to Charles and Ruby Masco in Pagosa Springs on the Laughlin/Masco Ranch on the San Juan River, north of town. She belonged to the Laughlin/Teather families who pioneered the settlement of Archuleta County in the 1880s. She was a fourth-generation resident of Archuleta County.

She is proceeded in the death by her husband, August William (Bill) Warr, three brothers with their wives and two nephews: Charles and Dorthey Masco, John and Sara Masco, George and Hattie Masco and Dallas and Billy Masco.

Golda married August William (Bill) Warr on April 8, 1948. They were married 62 years. To this union two daughters born, Billie Marie and Becky Ann.

Billie Marie (Warr) and husband Sanford (Buster) Heath, of Texas. Buster and Billie’s children are: Sharmonea and Jason Baggett and their two children, Tristen Baggett and Lauran House from Oklahoma; son Conan Heath, of Texas; Ashley and Jake Kohan and their two daughters, Abigail and Madelyn from Texas.

Becky Ann (Warr/Eaklor) Thorne, of Colorado. Her children are: Wynona (Eaklor) and Sean Trepas and their children William, Luther, and Alexander from Colorado; son Eric Eaklor, of Colorado; daughter YoVonda Eaklor, of New York; and son Michael Thorne Jr., of Colorado.

She is also survived by three nephews; Larry and Russell Masco, Roger Masco and two nieces, Sharon Ward and Carolyn Locke.

Golda was buried in the Hilltop Cemetery in a private family service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Pagosa Springs was her home and she loved it here.
