Traditionally, community members have come together to spruce up Hilltop Cemetery prior to the Memorial Day holiday. This year, you are invited to participate in this tradition.
A group of citizens, including veterans, scouts and 4-H members, will be joining forces to clean at Hilltop Cemetery. Plans are to remove trash and rake.
This year’s cleanup day is set for May 10 from 9 a.m. until noon.
All are invited to attend and assist in this cleanup. Any other groups that wish to make this a service project are welcome to attend.
You do not need to be a member of a group to participate — all are welcome. The goal is to clean the cemetery to have it ready for Memorial Day, when Americans honor those who have died while serving in our nation’s armed forces.
If you wish to participate, please provide your own gloves, gardening tools, if you desire to use them, and drinks. Make sure you sign in at the table just inside the cemetery entrance. The Town requires sign in for insurance purposes.
If you have any questions, please call Shari Pierce in the evening at 264-4862.
