What is going on? Five people have announced their candidacy for two positions on the five member Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District board. It appears that the people of Pagosa want to get involved with decision-making by PAWSD — how it affects their present and future quality of water and sanitation services, taxes, the Dry Gulch issue and ability to have voter input.
The election of board members will be held May 6. The five candidates will be speaking at the April 8 Archuleta County Republican Women’s meeting. Here is the opportunity to hear each candidate’s projected goals for PAWSD, their work and personal history making them qualified to be on the board, etc.
Presently, the five candidates who will be speaking are Allen Bunch, David West, Paul Hansen, Gordon McGiver and Jennifer Burck. Time will also be allotted for Ken Fox, candidate for LPEA to give a short talk as well.
Hear these candidates talk on April 8 at Nello’s Bistro from noon-1:30 p.m. Select a lunch from three items for $10. All are welcome. For more information, call 731-6336.
