Americana Project Guest Artist Concert to feature Mojo Birds

Posted

This year’s annual Americana Project Guest Artist Concert will be held in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m.

Students from the class will open the show with a great mix of covers and original songs. This year’s special guest is the band Mojo Birds. Their sound is a mix of roots, rock, soul and Afro-Peruvian Mojo. Inspired by the likes of The Band and a touch of Al Green, these Birds are a funky flock.

Mojo Birds, from Durango, is a roots band built from the ground up — grassroots, entrepreneurial and community-focused. Known for high-energy shows and an eclectic blend of roots based music, the band has grown its audience through relentless gigging, self-produced events and strong local partnerships. Their newly released debut album was produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers and captures the band’s raw chemistry and joyful groove.

Not only are the members of Mojo Birds talented musicians, but they also have an impressive and wide variety of life experience that they bring to the stage.
