2026 Archuleta County Fair rodeos promise a weekend of action, tradition and community

This summer marks a milestone worth celebrating as the Archuleta County Fair commemorates its 75th anniversary, honoring three-quarters of a century of agriculture, western heritage and community tradition.

From July 30 through Aug. 2, fairgoers are invited to celebrate this diamond anniversary with four days of family fun, livestock shows, live entertainment and an action-packed lineup of rodeo events. From professional rodeo action and live music to working ranch competitions and kids taking center stage, the Archuleta County Fair arena will be the place to be all weekend long.

The excitement will begin July 31 with the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo, an event that continues to grow in both impact and prestige. This year marks an exciting milestone as the rodeo officially becomes a Colorado Pro Rodeo Association (CPRA) sanctioned event, bringing top professional contestants from across the region to compete in Pagosa Springs.

While the competition is sure to be thrilling, the heart of the evening remains the same. Proceeds from the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo benefit our local Pagosa Springs Medical Center’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, helping provide support and care for cancer patients right here in our community.

“Our Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo is about more than great rodeo action,” states the Archuleta County Fair Board. “It’s about neighbors coming together to support neighbors. We’re incredibly proud that this event continues to grow while making a meaningful difference for local families.”

When the final bull has bucked and the last barrel has been turned, the celebration will continue with a live performance by Tylor Brandon, giving rodeo fans another reason to stick around for an evening of great country music.

The western action will continue Aug. 1 with the return of the Archuleta County Ranch Rodeo, one of the fair’s most anticipated events. Unlike a traditional rodeo, the Ranch Rodeo showcases the real-life skills used every day on working ranches. Teams will compete in events that test horsemanship, teamwork and ranching ability, including crowd favorites like trailer loading, branding, cow milking and stray gathering, giving spectators an authentic glimpse into Colorado’s ranching heritage.

Following the annual Livestock Auction on Saturday evening, the fairgrounds will once again come alive with live music as Bo DePeña takes the stage. Whether you’ve spent the day cheering on ranch teams, supporting local youth at the auction or enjoying the fair, it’s the perfect way to wrap up another memorable day.

The weekend of rodeos will conclude Aug. 2 with one of the fair’s most beloved traditions — the Kids Rodeo. Young cowboys and cowgirls will have the opportunity to participate in fun rodeo events designed just for them, creating memories that often become the beginning of a lifelong love for rodeo and the western way of life.

“This weekend is what the Archuleta County Fair is all about,” the Fair Board adds. “It’s bringing families together, celebrating our agricultural roots, supporting our community and creating traditions that will be remembered for years to come. Celebrating our 75th county fair makes this year’s event even more special, and we invite everyone to come help us celebrate this incredible milestone.”

Whether you’re a lifelong rodeo fan or attending for the very first time, this year’s rodeo weekend offers something for everyone. Come cheer on CPRA competitors, support local ranchers, enjoy live music under the summer sky, and watch the next generation of cowboys and cowgirls carry on the traditions that have made the Archuleta County Fair a cornerstone of our community for 75 years.

Dust off your boots, gather your family and friends, and join us July 30 through Aug. 2 as we celebrate the 75th Archuleta County Fair with a weekend filled with excitement, entertainment and hometown pride.

Here’s to 75 years of tradition — and many more to come.
