The Pagosa Springs Police Department is providing the following update regarding current flooding conditions in the area:
U.S. 160 between Hot Springs Boulevard and U.S. 84, has reopened to vehicular traffic. Motorists are urged to drive with caution as crews continue to monitor road conditions.
Please note that the pedestrian sidewalk on the south side of the 1st Street bridge remains closed due to the rerouting of temporary sewer lines. Pedestrians should use alternate routes and avoid the area for their safety.
All town parks remain closed due to ongoing flooding and elevated water levels. Public access will resume once conditions are deemed safe by town officials.
Mandatory evacuations are tentatively scheduled to be lifted at 4 p.m. today, contingent upon water levels receding to a safe threshold. Residents in affected areas should stay alert for further updates and be prepared to remain evacuated if conditions do not improve.
