Pagosa Peak Family Dentistry is honored to build upon a nearly 40-year legacy of clinical excellence, a tradition passed from Dr. Thompson to Dr. Campbell, and now to Dr. Peter Roukema and his wife, Christy Roukema, RDH in February 2022.
The Roukemas have proudly embraced this heritage, while introducing a new chapter for the family practice through dedicated care and strong community involvement.
This evolution is guided by a commitment to core values and a clear vision to serve Pagosa Springs, captured in the mission: “To elevate our patient’s health, function and confidence in their smile by providing excellent dental care and an exceptional patient experience.”
By combining this high level of care with a personal touch, the team, including Dr. Jaime Astorga, DDS, and hygienist Patricia Flynn, RDH, ensures every person leaves with a smile they love.
In an exciting development, Pagosa Peak is relocating this May to 2737 Cornerstone Drive. This expansive, cutting-edge facility will allow the practice to better serve the community, create more local jobs and provide a dedicated space for those pursuing dental careers with on-site education initiatives.
This vision of service extends further through the “Rooted and Reaching” initiative. While the practice remains “Rooted” in its heritage of local care, it is “Reaching” out in committing a portion of the revenue from every procedure performed in 2026 directly to a local charity.
Launched in January, the program benefits a different organization each month, reflecting the belief that when patients invest in their health, they are simultaneously investing in the strength and well-being of the entire community.
The team at Pagosa Peak looks forward to welcoming neighbors, striving to be a pillar in the community known for its friendly environment and providing the same high-level service the town has trusted for decades.
