Friends of the Library Book Club cooks up fun

Posted

The Friends of the Library Book Club, which meets on the first Monday of the month, had an extra special meeting in September.

Each month, the members choose a new topic to read and review together. This month, they decided on cookbooks.

As a fun addition to reading and reviewing the cookbook of their choice, the club members decided to bring a dish from each cookbook to share. It was great fun. Each member had unique experiences with why they chose the recipe, the results and the cookbook.

The Friends of the Library Book Club is open to new members. This coming month of October, they are reading an armchair travel selection about the authors’ travels.

If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Library — part of the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library Found and Friends — and attending the book club, the annual membership is only $15 for an individual or $25 per family. A lifetime membership is $150 per person.

Membership includes many benefits, such as early access to Friends of the Library book sales and other events held at the library. It is a great way to learn more about the Foundation and Friends events. To join, simply go to the Ruby Sisson Library and sign up.

Great libraries need great friends.
