In coordination with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office will again participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Sept. 27 — allowing residents to safely dispose of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 27, deputies will be collecting medications in front of the sheriff’s office, located at 449 San Juan St. (U.S. 160).
The following will not be accepted: needles and sharps, mercury (such as in thermometers), oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters and illicit drugs.
