William Willis Storm III passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home.
William (Bill) Storm was born May 26, 1923, in Red Bluff, Calif., to parents William Willis Storm II and Le Ona Ream Storm.
He moved with his parents to Texas where he graduated from Peacock Military Academy in 1939. He worked in the south Texas oil fields until his 1942 enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps, which began a career of over 30 years, retiring with the rank of colonel.
He married wife Bernice in 1968. They moved to Pagosa Springs in 1981. He was an officer of the property owners association for seven years, past chairman of the Republican Central Committee and longtime member and past president of the Pagosa Springs Rotary Club.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Storm, and stepson Jerry Buckley.
He is survived by wife Bernice (Barney) Storm, first wife Jean Otey Storm and children William, Sharon, Jan, Daniel and Katherine, 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and two stepsons, Ron and Bob Buckley.
Cremation has occurred and no service is planned. Contributions can be made in William Storm’s name to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758541, Topeka, KS 66675-8541.
