Vernon Don Wood Jr.

Beloved husband, father, brother, son.

Vernon Don Wood Jr. passed away in his sleep on March 19, just days after his 60th birthday.

Born in Casa Grande, Ariz., Vernon spent many years in Colorado and traveled with his third/fifth wife, Linda, to eventually find himself living in Ketchikan, Alaska.

Vernon lived an often wild and rowdy life and, along the way, met folks of all kinds, but he loved his special people with a love that was deep and clear as the waters he loved to fish (and jump into). Those who really came to know Vernon were often surprised by what lay beneath his rough exterior. A romantic, an artist, a dreamer, a man who loved to enjoy life and to share what he had with those around him, Vernon deeply affected those who loved him.

Vernon is survived by his parents, Nevolia and WD Clark; siblings, Tom Wood, Roy Don Clark, Sherri Clark-Carey, Gary Clark, Keith Clark; son, Don Vernon Wood; stepson, James Glen Iverson; his loving and often-frustrated wife, Linda Lintner Wood; and the many friends, too numerous to name, who will miss him.

As for me, I am left with a hole in my heart that will never be filled.
