Special to The Pagosa Springs SUN Online
San Juan Basin Health Department’s Celebrating Healthy Communities-Pagosa Springs Coalition, along with the Pagosa Springs Medical Center, is currently planning the Spring into Summer Wellness Fair, a free event, to be held May 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ross Aragon Community Center (451 Hot Springs Blvd.). The purpose of the fair is to provide a free forum for health and wellness-related businesses, programs and services to inform our community about what services they provide.
The different businesses, programs and services will be set up at tables inside the community center, where they can provide information and put on demonstrations, where appropriate. Table space is available free of charge. Attendance to the fair is free and participants can gather the information that they need. There will also be several 20-minute breakout sessions, the topics being: tobacco cessation, healthy relationships, volunteerism, healthy lifestyles and a Doc Talk.
Our hope is that, by attending this wellness fair, community members will learn of the services and programs that are available to help them improve their health and wellness and for them to see that the community cares for them.
