By Sally High | Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership
The Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) and the Town of Pagosa Springs began planning six signs for the GGP site way back in April 2021.
The tourism director contacted GGP and encouraged partnering in the new permanent signage. The new signs are ready to beautify our Riverwalk and inform locals and visitors about Pagosa Springs’ remarkable educational nonprofit in Centennial Park.
The GGP manages three dome greenhouses with the help of community volunteers. The signs are being installed by GGP volunteers and walkers on the Riverwalk will see them soon.
Each full-color sign is 24 inches wide and 18 inches high. The design is a standard template that the Tourism Department is using for other new signs to be seen soon around Pagosa Springs.
The GGP’s Education Dome is open each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday morning. Visitors can stroll through to see the thriving vegetable gardens that demonstrate year-round agricultural production made possible by geothermal direct-use heat. Perhaps, there will even be some fresh produce to take home for your family’s table.
The GGP invites the community to the Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration on Dec. 17. Our Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration is yet another partnership the Tourism Department makes with various Pagosa Springs groups. Bring the family to see the GGP’s new signs and stroll the Riverwalk.

The GGP is “growing food and community with local energy.” See you on the Riverwalk.
