The Recycled Rotarians are back for their fourth year at the Runway for Rise, a Recycled Fashion Gala.
Last year, this creative crew fashioned an incredible ensemble from wine corks and soda can tabs and took home the coveted Catwalk Creative Award, voted on by the audience for the best use of the required recycled materials. It was a true crowd favorite.
But their commitment to Runway for Rise is about more than creating an unforgettable outfit. It reflects something at the heart of both Rotary and Rise Above Violence: the power of volunteers to make a difference in our community.
In a small community like Pagosa Springs, volunteers step up to provide support that simply could not happen without them. At Rise Above Violence, volunteers help answer the crisis hotline, provide support and advocacy, assist with community outreach and awareness, and help make events like Runway for Rise possible. In 2025 alone, Rise volunteers contributed more than 3,000 hours in advocacy, awareness and fundraising.
For the Recycled Rotarians, service is at the heart of what they do. As they put it, “Service Above Self” is the Rotarian philosophy. Their continued support of Runway for Rise for all four years is a wonderful example of that spirit in action. We can’t wait to see what they’ve dreamed up this year.
Join us at Runway for Rise on Oct. 3 and vote for the Recycled Rotarians.
