Special to The SUN
At the Pagosa Springs Golf Club Saturday morning, June 29, at 9 a.m., Pagosa golfers of all abilities will tee off in the Rotary “Pagosa Benefits” Golf Tournament.
Money raised in this event benefits local Rotary programs, especially the scholarship fund for local high school students beginning their college careers.
Lots of individual and team prizes will be awarded, including men’s/ladies’ longest drive, straightest drive, longest putt and closest to the flag.
The $75 sign-up fee includes green fee, cart fee, range balls, lunch and awards. Sign-up fee for annual members of the PSGC will be $35.
A chance for the big bucks will come at 3 p.m. with the Golf Ball Drop. If your ball is closest to the hole, you can count on winning several thousand dollars (20 percent of the gross ball sales). Cost is three balls for $100. Individual balls are $40 each.
Sign up for the tournament and buy your Golf Ball Drop balls during registration at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club Saturday morning.
This is always a fun day for all participants and a very special day for the Pagosa scholarship recipient students who benefit from the money raised.
