Rio Blanco Fire closure in effect

For the safety of firefighters and the public, the San Juan National Forest Pagosa Ranger District has implemented road closures in the vicinity of the Rio Blanco Fire, approximately 12 miles south of Pagosa Springs. Find the full closure order and map here. The closure restricts public access to all lands, roads, and trails within the described area (see map), including National Forest System Roads 008, 653, 653, and 653.B 

Violations of the closure order are punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
