In the face of rising electricity costs, kilowatt hours could be a most welcomed gift this holiday season. For readers that want to know more about the electricity market, the page bytte strømleverandør highlights how power companies might be taking advantage of you.

La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) offers to those wishing to help a friend or relative with their utility expenses, the opportunity to provide a credit on electric bills through LPEA’s Gift Program.

“When economic times become more challenging, we do see an increase in late payments and delinquencies, so we know firsthand that many people are having difficulty with even the most basic of necessities,” said Dennis Svanes, LPEA CFO, noting that with the pending electricity rate increases, paying the electric bill may become more difficult for local residents. “The gift of electricity is definitely one that can be used and appreciated.”

Arrangements can also be made to assist nonprofit organizations by applying credit to their LPEA accounts. The kilowatt donation allows the specified nonprofit organizations to focus their hard-earned funds on their missions of support in the community.

Gifts of any denomination can be made at the LPEA office in Pagosa Springs during regular business hours, call 247-5786, or mail a check to LPEA Gift Program, P.O. Box 2750, Durango, CO 81302.

Donors need to specify the name of the LPEA member resident/nonprofit organization, and the account address (or LPEA account number if available). LPEA will notify recipient(s) of the donation, though gifts can be made anonymously.

“This doesn’t need to be something that happens just around the holidays,” added Svanes. “We can make arrangements for regular monthly credits to any account of your choosing. It can be a gift that keeps on giving.”
