The Silver San Juan Division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) will hold its Spring meeting on Saturday, April 29, at the Farmington Museum, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington, N.M.
The meeting will start with a social gathering at 9 a.m. and will end mid-afternoon. Lunch is on your own. Anyone who loves trains is invited.
The program will include presentations on programming train engines using a computer interface, building the Chrysolite Metals and Mill model structure, resin casting custom-made parts, and historic photos of the Rio Grande Southern and the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroads. Also, there will be an update on the Durango Railroad Historical Society.
Other events will include the Favorite Train Contest and “From the Workbench,” where modelers can display and discuss their current projects.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite model, photos or drawings of a planned project to discuss. Also, updates for the Rocky Mountain Region Convention to be held in Durango in June 2017 will be presented.
