Special to The PREVIEW
The Silver San Juan Division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) will hold its fall meeting on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Durango Head Start meeting room in the lower level (west side) of the Northpoint Mall, intersection of Camino del Rio and Main Street.
Anyone who is interested in trains and modeling is invited. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. with a swap meet and conversation.
The morning meeting program will be a presentation by Larry Brewer on building a model of the Farmington Depot. Video presentations will follow. The division’s annual meeting and elections conclude the morning. The afternoon program will feature Jarrette Ireland with a product demonstration.
The afternoon will also include the annual photography contest, a favorite train contest and an extended “From the Workbench,” where modelers display and discuss their current projects. Swap tables will be available for division members before the clinics and during breaks. A tour of two home model layouts will conclude the day.
The photography contest is open to paid-up division newsletter subscribers ($5 annual division newsletter subscriptions available at the door). First place will receive a one-year newsletter subscription extension. Contest judging will be by popular vote.
Directions for the layout tour will be handed out following the meeting.
