Trenten Tyler Sutherland was born Dec. 17, 1985, in Moab, Utah, to Jim and Vanessa Sutherland. Trent passed away on Dec. 27, 2013, in Egnar, Colo. He graduated high school in Pagosa Springs in 2004 and in diesel mechanics from the San Juan Vo-tech in Cortez in 2005. He married Darcie Thompson on Aug. 11, 2007, in Pagosa Springs. He enjoyed driving trucks and often took his son Wyatt. He loved his family and friends, never knew a stranger and always had a ready smile and helpful hand for anyone in need.He is survived by his wife, Darcie; sons, Wyatt, age 5, and Wade, age 3; his mother and father, Jim and Vanessa, of Egnar; his brother Travis (Jennifer), niece (Janae) and nephew (Clayton), of Redvale; grandmother Marion Tatum Rhodes, of Placerville; in-laws Pam and Lloyd Thompson; brother-in-law, Zach Thompson; uncles Levi Tatem, Lee Sutherland (Tammy), Bill Sutherland, Bob Sutherland (Mardell), Rick Sutherland (Stephanie), Randy Sutherland; aunts Donna Robbins (Kenny), Doris Kessler (Vern), Diane Sanders (George), Cheryl Eades (Mike) and Cathy Hessler (Steve). Trent is also survived by multiple cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl and Onita Sutherland; grandfather Jim Tatem; aunt Shirley Woods; uncle Larry Sutherland; cousins Garrett Carothers, Justin Keith and Toni Sue Sutherland Carver; and close friend Michael Valdez.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, at the First Baptist Church in Dove Creek at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to please be made at Community Banks of Colorado in Dove Creek.
